Chasing truth, beauty, goodness, and all things naturally wholistic.

Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not homeschooling my favorite students, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use herbs and essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

Lots of research led me to einkorn...

Not only is it much more cost-effective than buying organic vanilla extract in the store, it also tastes better. And on top of that, it makes...

Especially with two of my children having been born in China, we love to incorporate authentic(ish) meals that honor their birth heritage into our meal planning. Plus, we just love Asian food! This dinner recipe hits all of the yumminess checkboxes. And the best part is that it’s loaded with wholesome nutrition! If you enjoy...

The Benefits of Garlic

Have you ever grown garlic? After harvesting my first planting last summer (planted fall 2022), I was so pleased with the success that I put another batch in the ground this past October (2023) and tripled the amount! I ordered a large sampler of different types of organic bulbs from Mountain Valley Garlic, so I...

12 Self Care Ideas for 2024

Happy new year, friends! I just looked back over my blog and discovered that I published 3 posts in 2023. Three. Ouch. I am still fully committed to wholistic wellness practices, but teaching upper school art at my children’s classical Christian school has required that the blog take a back seat … along with letting...
