Meet Nicole

I am passionate about empowering families to cultivate natural, wholistic, healing homes where they can connect, thrive, and find joy in wellness. I help them learn and implement wholistic practices that nurture proper metabolic function and lower inflammation so they can take control of their wellness and become their own health advocates. In addition to being a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, an avid organic gardener and herb cultivator, an einkorn sourdough baker and kombucha fermenter, and a long-time essential oils user and herbal remedies maker, I am also a trauma-sensitive Empowered to Connect facilitator. I was a professional photographer for seven years, and I have been an educator in a variety of capacities since 2012. I have taught adults in workshop settings and students of all ages in brick & mortar classrooms. I also re-gained my role as homeschool educator in 2024 and am now deep into formal herbalist training (after years of self-study) with the Herbal Academy so that I can strengthen my understanding of how plants influence the body and more fully stock my home apothecary.

My Path To wellness

I had a wakeup call in 2018 after having many of the metabolic dysfunction markers and being on the verge of a Type II Diabetes. I had never made my health or self care a priority before, but I finally ditched toxic endocrine-disrupting household and personal care products, switching them for natural alternatives and essential oils. I cut out the processed food and chemical additives, and started fueling my body with real whole foods, organic whenever possible. I learned how to ferment foods, maintain a sourdough starter, and bake with einkorn flour. I started prioritizing restorative sleep and positive body movement. I began supporting my immune system and emotional health with essential oils, spending more time in nature, and prioritizing my spiritual health by spending more time with Jesus. Not only did I lose 40 pounds, my metabolic function markers normalized and my blood sugar levels stabilized. My body started working the way it was designed and I discovered tons of energy I didn’t know I had.

In my forties, I’m healthier now than any other time in my life.

Supporting Healing with Wholistic wellness

The other incredible outcome is that I learned how to support my family’s health and wellness, naturally. We don’t get sick as much because we’re fueling our bodies properly, and we’re all so much healthier and happier! It’s amazing how much better we feel when we prioritize wholistic wellness. We still have occasional treats and processed foods, but striving for an 80/20 approach keeps our bodies healthy and resilient while still having fun. It’s not an all-or-nothing lifestyle. Implementing slow, small changes can add up to big impacts in overall wellness!

As I’ve found in my family’s healing journey, as well as my own, getting back to basics with natural, wholistic lifestyle practices goes a long way in making us feel better by supporting the health and wellness we crave so deeply for our children and ourselves. Science even backs up the concept that using a whole-child approach helps children overcome the toxic stress and impacts associated with ACEs. That means that the same wholistic practices can support all families.

It is certainly not a guaranteed fix-all, but I have seen firsthand how well natural, wholistic lifestyle practices can mitigate so many symptoms and challenges. I’ve seen it in my own family and in countless others.

Time to Start Your Healing Journey

If your family wants to make positive changes to empower your bodies with wholistic wellness, now is the time to start your recovery journey! I want to empower you to take back your life through wholistic wellness and connected parenting, one step at a time.

I want to help you experience the freedom and satisfaction that wellness and connection can bring. Together, we can transform your home to a natural, wholistic, healing place where your family can live nourishing, fulfilling, abundant lives. There is so much freedom in this way of life!

Although I write about a variety of topics including homeschoolinghobby homesteading, and even Chinese culture, my space here on the internet is mostly meant to be a resource to families in their journeys toward natural and wholistic living that supports everyone to thrive and fulfill their God-given purposes. I truly believe that everyone can benefit from these practices because when we are more healthy and well (physically, mentally, and spiritually), we are less encumbered and more able to pursue the callings in our lives. It is amazing what we can do and how much we can recover when our bodies are optimally supported! No matter what season of life in which you may be, wholistic wellness practices can support you to follow your callings well, too.
