Chasing truth, beauty, goodness, and all things naturally wholistic.

Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not teaching fine arts to my favorite upper school students at our incredible classical Christian school, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

The proof is in the hair

Confession: It’s been a year since I got my hair cut. Cus #covid and #life. And it’s the longest my hair has ever been in all my forty years. I’ve always admired longer hair on other women, but never felt like I could pull it off because I was just not blessed with thick hair. If I let mine grow too long in the past, it looked unhealthy and, well … stringy and not so nice. But as my hair grew super Covid-long this past year, I never noticed the your-hair-is-unhealthy-and-you-need-to-cut-it look.

So I let it grow and grow until it finally started annoying me and was just beginning to show the you-need-your-hair-cut symptoms. I had my appointment today and got all pampered and taken care of. Now I feel fabulous with trimmed ends and curled hair AND an incredible bill of health from my stylist.

You know what she said? She said she couldn’t believe how healthy and thick my ends were, given how long it’s been since my last cut.

No one has ever said that to me. Ever. It felt so good and validating. Because even though I KNOW switching to a more natural lifestyle is impacting my health, I don’t always see the results right away. They’re there though, apparently even in my hair. Who knew??

Friends, this wholistic lifestyle works. Fueling my body with nourishing foods and switching to natural, plant-based products is restoring the health I didn’t even know was missing.

If you are interested in switching to a more natural lifestyle, hair care can be a great place to start. There are lots of good products out there, but Young Living is my absolute favorite. No additives or funky ingredients … just essential oils and wholesome, nourishing goodness that I trust. PM me and I will help you get set up with your starter kit so you can begin making these changes, too. We’re worth it!
