Chasing truth, beauty, goodness, and all things naturally wholistic.

Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not homeschooling my favorite students, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use herbs and essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

Inspired by the Lakota Native American tradition of observing the northern lights while inhaling the affirming aroma of nearby conifer trees, the...

Why Consider a Water Filter?

According to the EWG, about 85% of the American population is drinking water that contains more than 300 contaminants. Isn’t that insane? What’s worse, many of the contaminants are not regulated by the EPA.  Some of these are harmful toxins including lead, mercury, arsenic, and antibiotics.  In addition, conventional farming runoff has also polluted drinking...

Overcoming Apple Juice

Right or wrong, my husband and I started serving apple juice to our two oldest kiddos when they were toddlers.  I don’t remember intentionally making a decision to do so, but I know it started with those cute little Gerber baby apple juice bottles. You know the ones? It was innocent enough at first.  We’d...

Every Herb Bearing Seed | A Natural Health Curriculum

I recently started leading a natural health homeschool class with a few moms and their teenage daughters.  It’s been such a sweet way to connect in a small group setting during Covid, while also laying the foundation for natural wellness.  Though my daughter isn’t participating in the study because of her school course work, she...
