The Raindrop Technique was developed by Young Living Founder D. Gary Young in 1989 as a unique practice based on methods that have been used for centuries to rejuvenate the body and mind. Inspired by the Lakota Native American tradition of observing the northern lights while inhaling the affirming aroma of nearby conifer trees, the Raindrop Technique is intended to help bring balance and harmony to the body by combining targeted massage and distinctive energy approaches.
Now, don’t let the term “technique” scare you off when it comes to doing Raindrops. I have never been trained on how to do it the proper way, and to be completely transparent, I haven’t ever done the full Raindrop Technique. I’ve read about how to do them before, but I really haven’t given myself the time and space needed to learn it, which makes me think that other people are probably in the same boat.
“Raindrop in a Bottle” is a simplified version that adds all of the Raindrop oils to one bottle that can be rolled on the spine, bottoms of feet, and behind the ears. It’s perfect to use anytime someone is feeling under the weather, but there are many other benefits as well, which makes it a terrific self-care practice.

There’s a lot of information online about how to perform a proper Raindrop Technique massage if you’d prefer that, but my goal is always just to get the oils on the body. I’m not so worried about the specific motions because I know the oils are potent on their own. Especially applied after a Detox Bath, Raindrop in a Bottle packs a powerful punch. If you aren’t familiar with these oils, do some research on Valor, Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Cypress, Wintergreen, Marjoram, Aroma Siez, and Peppermint … you’ll quickly discover how beneficial they are.
You can purchase all of the oils separately or you can grab the complete Raindrop Collection, which is always a great deal. If you don’t already have a Young Living account, make sure you add my Brand Partner ID#1874435 so I can get you hooked up with my community. Find more information about how to order HERE.
