Chasing truth, beauty, goodness, and all things naturally wholistic.

Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not teaching fine arts to my favorite upper school students at our incredible classical Christian school, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

Not only did my baby girl grow into a beautiful, hilarious, incredibly bright young woman, I transformed my health with wholistic lifestyle practices, too. In 2015...

Can we prevent breast cancer? | Part II

This is PART II of a two-part post. If you haven’t read the first post, please GO HERE first to read that part.  This post will be a bit confusing to jump right into without the background information I published last week. Can we prevent breast cancer? | Part I

It’s no secret that I struggle with breast health, going through a terrifying phase of breast biopsies to rule out a cancer diagnosis in 2019.  And because I have extremely dense breast tissue, along with being 10% Ashkenazi Jewish and having a paternal grandmother who passed away from breast cancer, I’m in the unsettling camp...

Our first day redo

Sometimes even the first day of school desperately needs a redo, and we’re a shining example of that.  Yes, sometimes the whole entire day simply needs a redo.  It was a perfect opportunity to demonstrate to the kids that sometimes things just go wrong, but there’s always some mercy or blessing to find, no matter...
