Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not homeschooling my favorite students, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use herbs and essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

The repeated onslaught to...

Medicinal Mushrooms, Anyone?

Mushrooms are one of those vegetables that people either love or hate.  In fact, I remember an IG/FB post from last summer in which I asked about proclivity toward mushrooms.  Answers were extremely divided!  I happen to be in the love ’em camp, but I know not everyone feels the same.  I’d like to make...

Are food preservatives that bad?

As part of a natural approach to supporting ADHD symptoms, I have tried to limit the chemical preservatives in my family’s food over the last several years.  It can be fairly difficult to completely eliminate them, but I am a firm believer in avoiding whenever possible.  As I’ve shared in the past though, we aim...

A Prescription for Vitamin N

It’s been a bit quiet here on the blog over the past month.  With the new school schedule requiring me to spend quite a bit of time away from the house doing drop-offs and pick-ups, there hasn’t been a lot of time for writing.  However, the one nice positive of spending so much time driving...
