Chasing truth, beauty, goodness, and all things naturally wholistic.

Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not teaching fine arts to my favorite upper school students at our incredible classical Christian school, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

Never Leave Home Without It!

Did you know that the d-limonene constituent found in many citrus fruits has an acid neutralizing quality?  I know it seems counter-intuitive that fruits like lemon and lime can actually offer relief from stomach upset, but it’s completely true!  And it’s one of the reasons why I never leave home without a few packets of Young Living’s Alkalime supplement tucked into my purse.  It’s one of my favorite products because the powdered lemon and lime ingredients, combined with the mineral cell salts, help to neutralize acidity and maintain (or restore) a healthy pH balance.  Especially when I have plans to eat at a restaurant, I always make sure I have Alkalime packets available so I can take advantage of the soothing relief after overindulging and eating too much.

I also love that it’s free from artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners, so I can rest easy knowing that I’m not putting junk into my body.  Foreign non-food chemicals that I can’t pronounce are a no-go for me, at least as much as possible.  Though I can’t always avoid those additives, I sure can try to limit them in my home.  Everyone in my family uses Alkalime when needed, and I’ve offered it to countless friends and other family members when they need some neutralizing alkaline support as well.

The individual packets are perfect for being on-the-go because the powder can simply be added into a water bottle and then shaken.  In fact, I just took advantage of this opportunity the other day after eating out at a new restaurant.  For home use, the larger Alkalime bottle is a more cost-effective option.   Just one teaspoon of the powder, mixed with 4-6 ounces of water is all that’s needed to whip up this soothing supplement.  Alkalime has a fizzy, citrus flavor that reminds me of a salty, less sweet version of Sprite.  It’s not my most favorite flavor, but it’s certainly more than tolerable knowing it keeps me feeling good.

And because of that, I am never without it!
