2026-2027 Homeschool Curricula

You know those seasons that seem to last forever but at the same time don’t feel long enough? That’s how I feel about my homeschool mama season. As I start my twelfth year as a home educator, the shortness of time is becoming ever apparent and I am finding myself feeling incredibly nostalgic as I think back over the years. With Brooklyn officially starting her junior year in high school and taking college classes with Liberty University … well I’m in my feels about it all. Just two short years left with her and then it’ll be just me and Ben to finish out what has been one of the absolute best seasons (careers?) of my life.

Although homeschooling has not always been easy, it’s always been an easy yes. I will never, ever regret these years spent sitting across the kitchen table from my kids (well, just Ben sits across from me these days but at least I know Brooklyn is still under my roof while she studies in her room!) because they are far too fleeting. If you are considering homeschooling – do not second guess that nudge. There is no greater honor than training up your children the way they should go.

Brooklyn is taking mostly LUOA classes and is super excited to be taking a lot of dual enrollment with Liberty University this year as well. She is starting to take some classes in Social Work, in which she is currently hoping to major. At the pace she’s keeping, she’ll enter college with enough credits to be halfway through her sophomore year! One of the beautiful gifts of homeschooling!

Math: Denison Advanced Algebra & Trigonometry (1.0 credit) and Not Consumed Consumer Math for Real Life (1.0 credit)

Physical Education: FCA Volleyball (0.5 credit)

Electives: Tech Twins Apple Computer Applications (0.5 credit), LUOA Dual Enrollment Intro to Social Work (0.5 credit), LUOA Dual Enrollment Intro to Psychology (0.5 credit), and whatever else she finds interesting to study

Ben helped choose a lot of his 7th grade curricula this year (I love having big kids!) and he is really looking forward to learning coding! He was so excited about starting back to school – he loves to learn! We’re using an eclectic selection of curricula, which is typically my preferred method anyway. I can’t wait to see where the year goes!

History: Story of the World’s Modern Age and some assigned reading from my Claritas Cycle 4 Reading List

Geography: Dylanna Geography Americas, Europe, and Asia with Geography Now videos

Science: Masterbooks Chemistry & Ecology

Math: Math Mammoth Grade 6 and Grade 7

Art: Originally designed art projects using a variety of media with studies of the following artists: Monet, Homer, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Seurat, Russell, Matisse, Munch, Stella, Picasso, Chagall, Kandinsky, Wyeth, Vasarely, Kahlo, Pollock and Klimt

Music: Not Consumed Still Singing Hymn Stories for Every Season (minus the tin whistle lessons)

Health: Paola Brown’s Teach Me Homeopathy

Foreign Language: Duolingo Mandarin

Physical Education: Archery classes & weekly Christian camp

Electives: CodaKid, Weekly Homeschool Camp Days at a local Christian camp that includes Bible study, art, science, and P.E.
