Citrus Fresh is a Young Living blend that combines Orange, Tangerine, Grapefruit, Lemon and Mandarin oils, with a hint of Spearmint.  It is now included in the kit as a non-GMO certified Vitality oil! This blend offers an uplifting, refreshing aroma that can be diffused to transform your home, work and classroom spaces. Not only does it add a clean, fresh scent to your environment, Citrus Fresh also works hard to enhance indoor air quality.

Citrus Fresh is a happy oil blend – diffuse it to lift your spirits on a dreary, winter day. Diffusing this oil also helps to open up the creative thinking part of the brain.

Likewise, it’s a perfect oil to add to natural cleaners for at-home use.  In fact, Citrus Fresh is one of the main ingredients in my Homemade Glass Cleaner!  It’s a snap to mix together.  In a 16 oz glass spray bottle, mix 2 capfuls of Thieves Household Cleaner, 2 teaspoons of vinegar, and 12 drops of Citrus Fresh Essential Oil.  Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water, add the spray top, and shake!  Not only is this cleaner extremely effective, you’ll be amazed at how well it cuts down on streaks!

Ways to use Citrus Fresh:

➕Add 1 drop into stinky shoes

➕Diffuse 3-5 drops in smelly areas (kitchens, bathrooms, etc) to neutralize odors

➕Diffuse 3-5 drops in the car to create a pleasant, clean environment (HERE is a car diffuser that I love)

➕Add to a spray bottle of water and witch hazel to create a fresh smelling room spray

➕Apply a few drops to the inside of a toilet paper roll (the cardboard) to help your bathroom smell fresh

➕Drop onto cotton balls and leave them in heater vents, shoes, drawers, and trash cans

➕Mix with the Young Living Bath Gel Base for an uplifting shower soap

➕While traveling, inhale during flights to give yourself a boost (while breathing in that recirculated air)

➕Diffuse by itself to make your home fresh and inviting without harsh commercial sprays

➕Or, try diffusing with the Young Living Clarity blend when you need to focus on work

➕Add 3-5 drops to Thieves Laundry Soap for an added fresh & clean smell

➕Add Citrus Fresh to your favorite carrier oil or natural moisturizer to moisturize, tone and soften skin and improve the appearance of healthy-looking, brighter skin (just be sure apply with your nighttime skin routine, as citrus oils are photosensitive and should not be exposed to the sun)

➕Add 2-3 drops to a wool dryer ball and toss in the dryer – your laundry will smell so fresh and so clean, and you’ll avoid all of the toxic chemicals

Speaking of laundry, please consider ditching those fabric softeners and dryer sheets!  Did you know that fabric softener is a major culprit of indoor air pollution? That “laundry smell” is actually volatile organic compounds (carbon based chemicals that evaporate at room temperature). They are some of the most toxic things we can have in our homes. Chemicals used in fabric softener-manufacturing operations cover your clothes with a fine layer of (toxic) lubrication, which can, indeed, soften fabrics and render them free of static cling. However, to mask the smell of the chemicals, companies add synthetic fragrances that are chocked full of over 3500 ingredients that aren’t regulated by the FDA. These chemical substances are not only on your (and your kids’) clothing, but on your sheets and pillowcases, towels and washcloths – everything!  Additionally, they are a significant contributor to indoor air pollution.

Instead of the conventional fabric softener and dryer sheets, start the ditch and switch with some WOOL DRYER BALLS.  You have the option to choose your favorite scent with an Essential Oil, and the dryer balls are reusable! Dryer balls fluff up your laundry, prevent clothes from clumping, increase air circulation, and cut down the amount of time it takes your clothes to dry. They can cut your drying time by as much as 25%!  Just pop them in your dryer with a couple drops of Young Living Essential Oils (Citrus Fresh is a perfect choice because of its fresh, clean scent).  A set of wool dryer balls costs about $10-15 and can last for years – they are well worth the investment.

A static electricity tip is to secure a safety pin to one of the wool balls while it’s in the dryer and to lower the heat setting of your dryer. This should help to bring down the amount of static.

Caution: Citrus essential oils (including the Citrus Fresh blend) are photosensitive, which means you should avoid direct sunlight for a few hours after applying these oils to your skin.
