Favorite Adoption Books

I love growing our adoption book library. It’s so fun to learn about other families’ favorite books, so I thought I’d share our adoption-themed favorites. Some are more favorite than others, but we’ve read them all. A handful are China-related, but could still be great for children not adopted from China. Some simply have fantastic adoption themes and are applicable to a wide audience. I think it’s a great idea to have a variety of adoption-themed stories available so children can understand that families are knitted together in different ways. It shows that we may be different, but we are all bonded together through love.

We do keep these books on a shelf in our homeschool room that’s easily accessible to the children who understand proper book care. For Dumpling, I try to read books out of this collection often to him so he’s familiar with them, but he doesn’t have free reign. Click on the bolded title to find out more about the book and/or to purchase it. And if you have a favorite adoption book that not in our collection, please share in the comments!
