Chasing truth, beauty, goodness, and all things naturally wholistic.

Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not teaching fine arts to my favorite upper school students at our incredible classical Christian school, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

Empowered to Connect Simulcast

I cannot believe that the Empowered to Connect 2018 Simulcast is so quickly approaching! We’re almost a week out! We are so excited to be hosting this amazing conference at our church this year.  The two day training is a thorough overview of all of the Empowered to Connect training – the training the Dr. Karyn Purvis worked tirelessly to bring to parents.  We believe strongly in a connected parenting style.  After many years of getting it wrong with traditional parenting, we know that these techniques simply WORK!  We certainly don’t get it right all the time, but so many of the principles have become second nature in our home.  Implementing them has completely changed the dynamics in our family, creating more peace, trust, and understanding.

If you parent, teach, or spend time with children from hard places, this training will be incredibly valuable for you!  You’ll experience practical teaching in a safe and supportive community as we work to equip families, churches, and professionals to better serve children impacted by adoption and foster care.  Featuring Trust-Based Relational Intervention® methods developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross from the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development, this conference helps bring attachment and connection in families.

You can check to see if the Simulcast will be showing in your area HERE.
