2025-2026 Homeschool Curricula
Yikes, I recently realized that I never published our 2025-2026 homeschool curricula! I had the whole post written back in August but I suppose life just got in the way. Oops! Better published halfway through the school year than not at all!
We are continuing with our local Christian co-op, where I have been teaching an Intro to Herbalism class to high schoolers that has been an absolute dream! Ben has been loving his days at the homeschool camp, as well as archery and theater classes. Brooklyn has also been excelling with her LUOA classes and has even finished a few classes already (get it, girl!).
We’re looking forward to taking more trips in the spring, as that was a huge highlight from last year. So far we’ve only been to the Maryland Zoo (with an impromptu visit to the Druid Hill Conservatory) but volleyball season makes planning anything extra pretty difficult. With that completed, we’ll now just wait for weather that’s a little warmer. We’ve been talking about Boston and maybe New York or Niagara Falls. We LOVE this freedom of homeschooling and have so much fun dreaming about the places we want to visit. Experiential learning is our jam!
Brooklyn (10th Grade)
Bible: Apologetics co-op class (0.5 credit) and devotions at home using Answers Family Bible Devotionals
Language Arts: American Comp & Lit (co-op class) (1.0 credit)
History: LUOA American History (0.5 credit), LUOA Government (0.5 credit), LUOA Virginia History (0.5 credit)
Science: LUOA Biology (1.0 credit)
Math: Denison Algebra II (1.0 credit)
Art: Digital Photography (0.5 credit) and Art I (co-op class) (0.5 credit)
Health: Natural Health with Nutrition 101: Choose Life! and originally-designed Herbalism class (0.5 credit)
Foreign Language: Westlake Chinese Academy Level 2 that meets online two times per week (1.0 credit)
Physical Education: FCA Volleyball, Archery classes (0.5 credit)
Electives: Tech Twins Apple Computer Applications (0.5 credit) and ûdemy Photoshop Elements (0.5 credit)

Bible: Co-op class about the Parables of Jesus and devotions at home using Answers Family Bible Devotionals

Language Arts: Comp & Lit I with The Elegant Essay, Windows to the World, and Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, IEW Fix It Grammar Level 3, Worldly Wise Grade 5
History: Story of the World’s Early Modern Times and reading assignments from my Cycle 3 Reading List, as well as Guest Hollow Beowulf’s Big Book of Early American History (co-op class)
Geography: Masterbooks A Child’s Geography’s Explore His Earth
