Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not teaching fine arts to my favorite upper school students at our incredible classical Christian school, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

We recently received a new blend in our wellness box, though, and...

Our Quarantine Diffuser “Theme Song”

When all of the kids started back to school-at-home again in March for quarantine, I started diffusing this amazing-smelling blend of Bergamot, Peppermint, and Cinnamon Bark.  I love it so much that it’s stuck with me as my go-to daily diffuser blend.  It’s an incredible way to emotionally support the kids while they’re trying to...

Essential Oils for Felt Safety

Felt safety is a topic that comes up over and over again when working with adoptive and foster parents.  It can be an unusual concept to consider, but it’s one that is essential to fully embrace when parenting children with hard starts.  Because they’ve so often been in situations where they actually were not safe,...

Let’s Talk Laundry

According to the American Cancer Society, only 5-10% of all cancer cases are related to genetics. That means that up to 95% of cancer cases are within our control. Our lifestyle choices – what we eat, our surrounding environment, how we treat our bodies, what we put in our bodies, and yes, what we put...
