Chasing truth, beauty, goodness, and all things naturally wholistic.

Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not homeschooling my favorite students, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use herbs and essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

Be the Gatekeeper

Did you know that cancer is currently the #2 cause of death in America? Practicing preventative health

“Preventative health” is a term that I didn’t think much about before my health journey, but it’s one that’s tossed around often in natural wellness circles.  Wikipedia notes that preventative health “consists of measures taken for disease prevention, as opposed to disease treatment.” Simply put, it’s the philosophy that the best way not to get...

It’s snow fun

Snow Day!  They asked to play out in the snow all day, and they finally got their chance after school work was completed. Life of a homeschool student, what can I say? A “day off” isn’t really a day off, though we take plenty of other days.  I will always love the flexibility of this...

Let it snow

We got our first snow of 2019 today!  It was simply beautiful!  It snowed through the night, so we woke up to a breathtaking blanket of pure whiteness.  It was just enough to cover everything nicely, but we were still able to get around on the roads. The chickens were tucked away nicely in their...
