We got our first snow of 2019 today! It was simply beautiful! It snowed through the night, so we woke up to a breathtaking blanket of pure whiteness. It was just enough to cover everything nicely, but we were still able to get around on the roads.
The chickens were tucked away nicely in their run, as DH and I covered it in construction plastic last night. It’s been so warm this winter, so this was the first time I really considered doing it. In hindsight, I’m so glad we made that call because we got about 4 inches of snow. It would’ve made the run incredibly snowy and uncomfortable for the girls.
The kids had the opportunity to get out and play in the snow with their cousins, and I know they had a great time! They always covet any chance they get to spend together. And we’re off co-op tomorrow, so I’m sure there will be more snowball throwing in the future! What a fun surprise!
