Chasing truth, beauty, goodness, and all things naturally wholistic.

Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not homeschooling my favorite students, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use herbal remedies and essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

Scrumptious Einkorn Banana Bread

My love affair with einkorn flour continues.  We are obsessed with the delicious, healthy, wonderfully scrumptious einkorn banana bread. I bake it often.  The house smells lovely while it’s in the oven. In fact, everyone who walks into the house while it’s baking wants to know what the delicious smell is. A couple of the...

Einkorn is the first, most ancient form of wheat.  It’s older than even spelt...

Sourdough Pizza

We love homemade pizza around here, and we have it for dinner probably about every two weeks.  I try to make sure to have the ingredients on hand for the days I forget to thaw out meat or I’m running short on time.  All the children ask for this pizza and prefer it over store-bought...

Kombucha – it’s easier than you think

I’ve been brewing kombucha now, off and on, for the past few months.  I took a break after my first few batches because, honestly, I was forgetting about the brew sitting on my counter too often!  I knew it had many potential health benefits, including bio-available vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, and probiotics, but I...

Snow storms are for sourdough baking

I love baking while snow piles up outside.  And it’s even more fun this time with my sourdough starter!  Over the last few months, I’ve actually been able to replace almost all of our bread products with yummy homemade sourdough recipes.  We are almost store-bought free, save a few products that I haven’t had time...
