Chasing truth, beauty, goodness, and all things naturally wholistic.

Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not homeschooling my favorite students, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use herbs and essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

Benefits of Sourdough

I have been baking with sourdough now for over five years, and I have no plans to go back to modern instant yeast. It’s not only easier to work with and much more forgiving, it’s the traditional way bread has been baked for thousands of years. Sourdough bread is so much tastier and it is...

Crockpot Shredded Chicken Tacos

You may have noticed that I’ve been absent for about … the last … eh, 8 months or so. Man, it’s crazy how time flies! This is the longest blogging sabbatical I’ve ever taken, and it wasn’t even intentional. I’ll share a quick update and then leave you with one of my family’s go-to crockpot...

Science of Sourdough

If you’ve known me for any length of time, you’ll know that I’m obsessed with sourdough baking.  I started four-and-a-half years ago with a modern white flour sourdough starter, converting it to einkorn flour exclusively in 2018.  I began simply wanting to bake healthier bread for my family, but my efforts have expanded over the...
