Chasing truth, beauty, goodness, and all things naturally wholistic.

Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not homeschooling my favorite students, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use herbal remedies and essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

Vernon with my dad.  We did a lot of walking and got the opportunity to learn about our first president.  We toured...

Today is his birthday

But this birthday is different.  It’s filled with hope.  Because he has a family here who is sending sweet wishes and prayers.  A family who loves him deeply.  A family who longs to hold him in their arms and whisper in his ear that he is precious and loved.  A family who is eager to...

The fruits of attachment labor

While we were waiting to bring Sunshine home back in 2010 and 2011, I learned as much as I could about fostering attachment. I tried to memorize all of the attachment advice. Build trust by meeting needs quickly, check. Be the only ones to meet all of her needs, check. Love unconditionally, check. Don’t let...

CC Memory Box

I think the Memory Box is originally from Charlotte Mason to memorize scripture, but many Classical Conversations moms have adapted it to work with the CC grammar. I’ve had the idea pinned for … longer than I want to admit. So I finally got it put together just in time before we meet with our...
