Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not homeschooling my favorite students, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use herbal remedies and essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

In Guangzhou!

It was another long day for us, but we arrived safely in Guangzhou this evening.  The flight was uneventful and Sunshine slept for a good portion of the ride.  We did get over to the Beijing Pearl Market before leaving though, what a treat it was to share that with the kids!  They had a blast and got their first lessons on bargain shopping.  We bought up tons of goodies – lots of pearls as usual, and a good amount of jade as well.  I’m sure we’ll shop more in GZ also, but there are a few vendors in BJ that we always like to visit when we’re there.

We said goodbye to our fantastic guide, David, at the airport!  It was such a pleasure to spend our Beijing time with him. He was so flexible with our crazy crew and very sweet.  He was also super knowledgeable about Chinese history and I LOVE history.  If you need a guide for anywhere in China, please contact him!  We had such a great experience and I’m sure you would too.  He also has experience as an adoption facilitator, and is more than happy to do that too!  He is the organizer of China Mission Trip and his fees are very reasonable.  I can’t say sing his praises enough!
