Chasing truth, beauty, goodness, and all things naturally wholistic.

Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not teaching fine arts to my favorite upper school students at our incredible classical Christian school, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

Our seventh first day

We officially started our seventh year of homeschooling today!  It seems crazy to think about it being our SEVENTH YEAR, but the numbers don’t lie.  We’re pretty sure it was our first rainy start day though – we’ve had so much rain and Hurricane Florence hasn’t even made her way to us yet.  At least my flowers are happy.

We kicked off the 2018-2019 school year with our first day back to Bridges Classical Community.  It’s the fourth year with our amazing group.  We’re so thankful for our sweet, tight knit group of families who get us and love the classical methods as much as we do.

This is the first year that I’m not leading the grammar group, so it’s a bit of a change!  Though I’ve still retained my super awesome grammar music class, I’m tutoring two high school level classes all through the morning.  It’s a bit different for me, but so fun to work with the older students.  I’m leading a classical literature class (SO FUN!) as well as a formal logic class.  I have Angel back in class with me, which is really nice because I didn’t have her in class all last year.

I know it’s going to be a wonderful school year!  I’m so excited to get back into our normal routine and dive into our new studies!
