This was the third year (here’s 2015 and 2016) the older boys have gone fishing with the Brotherhood of the Jungle Cock near the Catoctin Mountains. It’s an annual tradition for these two. This was a big year for Lovebug though, because he learned how to fly fish! And from what I hear, he’s pretty darn good at it too! He also took such interest in tying flies that he was chosen to receive a whole fly-tying kit loaded with supplies.
It was a terrific weekend for the boys, which I’m so thrilled about. I love how much they look forward to their time away, and I love even more the opportunity they have to spend some quality one-on-one bonding time together. It can be difficult to intentionally make time for getaways like this, so I am all the more thankful that they do it each year. There’s just nothing like devoted time alone with Daddy to be treasured, valued, and encouraged while doing manly camping and fishing things.
