My blogging silence is always an indication of a season when life seems to take over. Spring is still coming up all around us, though I think the blooms are a bit confused with the 29 degree temperature this morning. We’ve celebrated Christ’s resurrection, taken a brief schooling break, and said goodbye to our old house for the last time.
Signing the papers on Friday was bittersweet, but relieving. We spent one last evening at the house with the children eating a picnic dinner on the floor and sharing about past memories. It was a special time, and I think it helped to offer all of us some closure. Although we moved 4 months ago, we’ve still owned the other house and were there often to prepare it for showings or just move more of our belongings out. But that chapter of our lives is finally closed, and it’s nice to have some finality now.
This week, DH and I are prepping for Together Called, our annual adoptive/foster couples marriage retreat with The Sparrow Fund. We are so honored and humbled to serve with the team again, and are even more excited to be attending this year all alone! For us, it’s always been an encouraging, restorative weekend filled with fellowship, worship, and education. We’re also working on some other really exciting plans, and I’m looking forward to eventually sharing how God is opening several pretty awesome doors.
