Chasing truth, beauty, goodness, and all things naturally wholistic.

Faith over fear.

Ephesians 2:8-10

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003. Together, we have four amazing children, by birth and adoption. When I am not homeschooling my favorite students, I spend my days on our 7-acre property where I try my best to love my family well and experiment with hobby homesteading. My favorite things to do are cultivate my ever-expanding gardens, wrangle chickens, ferment all the things, sourdough bake with einkorn flour, and figure out new ways to use herbs and essential oils. I believe God has tasked us to be good stewards of our spaces in the world, and I guide my children to do the same.

I am a board member of The Sparrow Fund and an Empowered to Connect Facilitator. I love to dig in the dirt, cook nourishing food, capture beauty through my camera lens, watch the sunrise on the beach, and spend time with good literature on my porch while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

Summer is here!

Although summer may not be officially here until June 21st, that sure isn’t stopping us from enjoying the beautiful weather!  The kids have been spending lots of time at the beach and swimming in the pool since it opened on Memorial Day weekend.  And I’m happily plowing through books.  I love this time of year because I can usually get through a book in about a week(ish).  My hope is to write a review for each one, and maybe even go back and write reviews for books I’ve read in the past.  We are still schooling in the morning, but then head over to the pool after.  The water is chilly but Angel, Lovebug, and Sunshine don’t seem to notice.  Dumpling isn’t a huge fan of the cold water though, so I set up a blow-up baby pool next to me for him to play.  He loves it and is perfectly happy to fill and dump water in buckets and cups.  When the pool is warmer, I’ll work on getting him comfortable and swimming all around like a little fishy.  But for now, the baby pool is an excellent tool.  And it gives me the opportunity to relax and read.
