Having the extra outdoor space on our property means more creative inspiration for gardening! And it was a perfect day to spend planting new flower seeds! I’ve wanted “lovely purple irises” since my college sorority days, so today we planted 50 bulbs! I’m not sure if they’ll bloom this season, but hopefully they will grace us with their presence next year. We also planted a bunch of lilies – another flower I’ve always enjoyed seeing in gardens. The children also picked out their own packets of flower seeds to grow while at the store earlier this week, and then they chose where to plant them. It’s going to be so rewarding to watch everything sprout up and blossom through the summer. And on top of that, this is a super fun way to help the kids learn about caring for seeds and plants! There’s still a lot of work still to be done, but I am thoroughly enjoying the gardening lifestyle. There’s something so gratifying about playing in the dirt!
