I consider it an honor to connect with others, and I am always looking for meaningful opportunities to partner with parents and families. I am passionate about equipping through education and training, but I also believe that empowerment includes being in community with one another. Training is so much more impactful when we have a tribe to encourage us in our journey. Let’s be each other’s tribe as we learn and grow together.
I am available to share about health and wellness, self care, and connected parenting topics. Together, we can create the perfect training topic designed especially for your event.
Training & Speaking Topics:
A typical “buffet” approach to parenting and correcting children is often challenged when caring for children through adoption, kinship, and foster care. Traditional parenting methods aren’t always effective, leaving us feeling frustrated, ineffective, and wondering what to do. Connected parenting is designed to meet us there so that we can meet the needs of children from hard starts by seeing them through a wholistic lens. Through providing both structure and nurture, caregivers can guide children while building strong caregiver–child relationships. When we focus on the relationship with the children in our care, we’re able to best help them build trust, heal, and grow. Attendees in this training will hear a little bit about the whys and a few practical tools they can apply right away to build connection with the children in their care as they guide and correct them. (This training can be tailored for a general parenting audience.)
Parenting isn’t just about connecting and correcting, it’s also about empowering our children for success. In order to help them be all they can be, it’s important to fill up our children’s fuel tanks with the proper fuel. Likewise, predictably meeting their physical needs in a wholistic environment equips them to thrive and be all they can be. Not only that, the healthy routines we create in our homes now will set our children up for a lifetime of self care. In this session, Nicole shares about how to empower children through good nutrition, hydration, and sleep habits, as well as natural wellness practices. Additionally, she’ll share about designing a home environment that offers felt safety and rich sensory experiences for our children with hard starts.
All too often, we parents allow our family and household responsibilities to take their tolls on our health. We put everyone else first and let ourselves go in the process. We make excuse after excuse after excuse about why it isn’t the right time to make our self care a priority. We are too busy. We have too many responsibilities. We are too exhausted. The list goes on and on. But, the truth is that self care is an essential component of living well and caring for those we love. After all, we can’t pour from an empty cup. In this session, Nicole share about practical ways to create daily self care rituals that promote wellness and provide the “cup-filling” we need to care for our families well.
Kombucha is a fermented tea that has roots in ancient Chinese practices. Though it can be an acquired taste, this drink offers loads of potential health benefits. Kombucha is a healthy source of vitamins, minerals, raw digestive enzymes, and probiotics to support gut health, and it also promotes general disease prevention and immune function by boosting antioxidants, which help to reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, as well as detoxify the body. The best part is you can make it at home for a fraction of the cost of store-bought! In this session, Nicole shares all about kombucha and what you need to get started brewing it at home.
Leavening bread using sourdough is a timeless and healthier approach to bread-making. It’s also tastier. In this training session, Nicole shares all about the science behind sourdough, how it works, why it is healthier, and how to get started with bread-making in your own home. She also offers some troubleshooting tips and advice about different types of flours.
